Most of us don't have a plan to celebrate accomplishments. People and organizations tend to have a mindset of "on-to-the- next", even though it is contrary to productivity and efficiency. Nothing could be further from the truth. The lessons learned on the path to achievement and the relationships between people that make future achievement more plausible can be strengthened through celebration. There are four moments that can be used to celebrate.

Adults are often better at work than they are at play. We are sadly less competent when we turn play into work. Birthday parties and office retirement parties include balloons, pastries, and a platter. It is usually a drop-by-meetings party. Say hello. You can grab a plate of goodies at your desk. The guest of honor can only do a fly-by.
