Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced Tuesday she plans to run for reelection, but she didn't say if she would seek another term as speaker.

Pelosi said in a video that she intends to run for reelection because she wants to improve people's lives.

She agreed to give up the gavel after she was re-elected as speaker in a deal with Democrats.

Last year, Forbes named Pelosi as the 15th most powerful person in the world. The term limit proposal, which would have allowed three terms by a simple majority vote of the caucus and a fourth with two-thirds support, was never voted on by the Democrats.
