Mike Lindell's lawyers are dodging meetings for Dominion's defamation lawsuit and refusing to hand over discovery material, court documents show

According to a court filing, lawyers for MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell are not complying with requests to hand over discovery material in the defamation case.

The other lawyers in the case said in a filing Monday night that they stopped showing up to meetings designed to work out a schedule for the case the day after the request for documents.

The filing said that the change in position on whether the Court ordered and the Parties engaged in a conference reflects their effort to avoid responding to requests for production.

Attorneys representing every other party in the case signed the filing. Attorneys for MyPillow didn't respond to Insider's request for comment.

The pillow company was sued by the company in February for allegedly being damaged by false conspiracy theories about the election technology company.

Giuliani and Powell, two attorneys who worked for President Donald Trump and pushed baseless theories that the election was rigged for the benefit of Joe Biden, were sued by the same company.

The lawsuits were not dismissed by the US District Judge in the intervening months. They were consolidated into one case that will go to trial together.

While trying to convince Nichols that he and MyPillow should be separate entities, Lindell has been unsuccessful in his attempts.

In September, Nichols ordered all the parties to meet and come up with a schedule for the discovery process and additional motions. According to the new filing, Giuliani, Powell, and Lindell are being asked to hand over documents related to statements they made about the company in media interviews.

After attending a few scheduling meetings, the lawyers for Lindell told the others that they didn't want to participate in the scheduling conferences anymore. The Supreme Court of the United States will hear the appeal of the rejection of the motion to dismiss.

According to the new filing, Lindell and MyPillow will refuse to participate in consolidated discovery until they have exhausted their appeal of the Court's denial of their Motions to dismiss.

When reached for comment on Tuesday night, he told Insider that his lawyers were not taking part in the meetings because they were waiting for the appeal to be ruled on.

Powell and Giuliani did not appeal the ruling. Their attorneys said in the new filing that they believed they would win their cases through summary judgment, a procedure by which the judge issues a ruling on the case without a jury trial.

The deadline for each party to hand over discovery material is September 29th.
