It is easier to share your PS5 pictures outside of your PS5. You can save your PS5 screenshots and videos to your camera roll if you choose, as the company appears to be rolling out a way to have them captured on your PS5 auto-upload. The feature was first tested in Canada and Japan in October, but it became available in the US on Tuesday.
I had to do a few things to get the new feature to work. To open the Media Gallery on my PS5 I had to scroll all the way to the Game Library icon and click on it. I was given the option to enable auto-Upload, which I chose.
I had to force quit the app first because the feature didn't show up on the mobile app immediately after I enabled it. I was told that PS5 captures would show up when I re-opened it. To see them on the app, tap the Game Library icon on the navigation bar, and then tap the Captures button, which will show any captures you've taken.
It was more difficult to take captures off of your PS5. One way I was using was to send a message to a friend. That would make them show up in the app as part of the party chat, but it often meant sending that friend a heads up about why you were doing that. Sorry about that, Mitchell. You have to take the captures off the drive to add them to your camera roll or social media site of your choice if you want to transfer them to ausb drive. The new auto-upload feature is simpler and I'm happy it's here.
After you create clips on your PS5, they will be available for 14 days. For video, clips up to 3 minutes in length and will be uploaded. There won't be trophy moments uploaded.
