Incoming New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen sounds like he will go into next season with Daniel Jones as the starting quarterback.

Speaking to reporters at his introductory press conference on Wednesday, Schoen said the front office will build an offense to accentuate what Daniel does best.

The Giants were planning to bring back Jones and Judge, according to a report by Adam Schefter.

Judge was fired by the Giants after going 10-23 in two seasons.

Jones has one more guaranteed year left on his contract. The Giants have until May 3 to decide if they want to pick up his fifth-year option.

The past three seasons have not gone well for Jones or the Giants. He had a promising debut with 3,027 yards, 24 touchdown and 279 rushing yards in 13 appearances.

In 25 starts, Jones has thrown for 5,371 yards, 21 touchdown and 17 interceptions. He was ranked 22nd out of 31 qualified quarterbacks in the 2020 season.

Things are more difficult for Jones because of the problems with the Giants roster. They had the third-worst offensive line in the league.

The Giants have not had a winning season since making the playoffs in 2016 with an 11-5 record.
