He fell out of favour in the forward positions after the signings of Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood.

Martial has started just four games for United this season, and was accused by the club's interim manager of asking not to play in the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on January 15.

The situation wasresolved after the France international rejected his manager&s claim.

Sevilla are in second place in La Liga and just four points behind Real Madrid as they try to win their first title since 1946.

Ronaldo's arrival was 'death knell' for Martial

Tom Williams, a European football expert, spoke to the Transfer Talk podcast last week about why Martial has been unable to hold down a first-team place at Old United, and revealed which two team-mates he thinks have been holding back the forward...

There are various reasons for him not hitting the heights that United would have hoped for. Since he came to the club, there has been a lot of instability. He has played under four different managers and not all of them have been his biggest fans.

He has had injury problems. Is he best on the left or on the middle?

There is competition for places at United. I think one of the things that gets overlooked is how unfortunate Marcus Rashford has been for Martial, because they are similar players. Also, you have got Mason, Edinson, and now, of course, the man who is the greatest player of all time, the man who is the greatest player of all time, the man who is the greatest player of all time, the man who is the greatest player of all

You are not sure how much he wants it. I don't like to judge players on their body language, but he is a great player to watch because of his ability. He is so inconsistent.

Martial was one of the absolute stars when they came out of the lock down. He was out of the picture last season because of a write-off.

He needs to move. The death knell for the United career of the first choice centre-forward was probably caused by the arrival ofRonaldo. The best thing for both parties is for him to leave.
