An appeals court judge issued a stay on the ruling by the Supreme Court judge that Kathy Hochul did not have the authority to impose the mask requirement.

The mask mandate was struck down by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in March of 2021.

Pennsylvania's mask mandate for schools was struck down by the state's Supreme Court.

The Michigan Supreme Court invalidated the emergency orders in October of 2020, but the state's health department reimposed the mask mandate in June.

In August, a federal judge blocked Kentucky's school mask mandate, though it only affected Beshear's executive order.
