John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens are close to a contract extension.

Harbaugh is under contract through the 2022 season and the deal should be done within the next few weeks.

The Ravens finished the regular season with six straight losses, their first losing season since 2015. The ankle injury that cost quarterback Lamar Jackson all but one quarter in the final five games was a factor in their late-season downfall.

Harbaugh has been with the Ravens for 14 years. He is the third longest-tenured coach in the league behind Bill and Mike. Harbaugh has led Baltimore to the playoffs nine times, highlighted by a Super Bowl victory.

Harbaugh and Jackson are both up for contract extensions this year, and the Ravens are happy with the stability Harbaugh brings to the table and the relationship he has with Jackson.

The team will be able to move forward with Jackson's talks with a clear vision for the future now that Harbaugh's deal is out of the way.
