The Minnesota Vikings seem to have a good chance of getting the general manager position.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Vikings are expected to work to hire the Cleveland Browns vice president of football operations.

According to Rapoport, Adofo- Mensah is the final finalist for the Vikings and the team is interviewing him for a second time.

Adofo- Mensah is meeting with various departments in Minnesota and his interview could wrap up by 5 pm local time.

After back-to-back losing seasons, the Vikings cleaned house by firing their head coach and general manager.

The position had been held by Spielman. He was hired as the Vikings' vice president of player personnel in 2006 after 16 years with the team.

Since Mike Lynn was promoted to general manager in the 1980s, no one else has held that title in Minnesota.

The head coach had final say on roster decisions before the GM took over. The 59-year-old helped guide the Vikings to four playoff appearances in that role.

Adofo- Mensah had his first interview with the Vikings. He has been the vice president of football operations for the past two seasons.

Adofo- Mensah worked in the San Francisco 49ers front office for seven seasons. He was their manager of football research and development for three years.
