OSHA scraps its vaccine mandate for large employers after the Supreme Court dealt the requirement a mortal blow

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will no longer require large employers to have their employees tested for COVID-19.

According to court documents, the emergency temporary standard will be withdrawn on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court blocked the vaccine mandate for large companies, saying it could not be enforced while challenges from multiple Republican-run states worked their way through the court system.

The Biden administration is working to set a permanent standard for vaccine statements based on the Supreme Court's ruling.

The emergency standard was adopted by OSHA on November 5 and called for businesses with more than 100 employees to have a vaccine mandate or rest for it.

According to the court documents, OSHA still strongly encourages workers to get vaccinations against COVID-19 despite the withdrawal of the emergency temporary standard.
