The Las Vegas Raiders requested an interview with Todd Bowles.

The Raiders contacted the Bucs on Tuesday, two days after the Bolts were eliminated from the playoffs, according to Adam Schefter.

The last three seasons, Bowles has been the defensive coach for the Bucs. He was fired by the New York Jets after four years as head coach. The Jets never made the playoffs during his tenure.

The Raiders are searching for a full-time replacement for Jon Gruden, who resigned in October after racist, sexist and anti-gay emails he sent while he was at ESPN were leaked to the media. The Raiders made it to the playoffs after Rich Bisaccia took over as interim coach.

The Raiders are going through a full hiring process for the full-time job, but they have the support of the locker room. The team has been linked to Jim Harbaugh, but it does not appear as if the two sides have met to discuss a possible return for the Michigan head coach.

Over the course of three seasons, the Buccaneers defense has ranked among the best in the league. They were ninth in the Football Outsiders' DVOA metric in the regular season, and fifth in scoring defense.
