Anthony Martial: Sevilla reach agreement to sign Manchester United forward on loan for rest of season

Anthony Martial will be going to Sevilla on a loan from Manchester United.

He will join the La Liga side and have his wages paid in full until the end of the season. There is no fee for the loan.

Martial will leave Paris on Tuesday to get a medical in Spain.

The forward wanted to join Sevilla this month because he believes that is where he will play the most.

Martial wanted to leave United in order to get more game time.

Martial became the world's most expensive teenager when he joined United from Monaco in 2015, and went on to score more than 80 times for the club.

He fell out of favour in the forward positions after the signings of Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood.

Martial has not started a game for United this season, and was accused by the club's interim manager of asking not to play in the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on January 15.

The situation was "resolved" after the France international denied his manager's claim.

Sevilla are in second place in La Liga and just four points behind Real Madrid, as they look for their first title since 1946.

Martial's death knell was caused by the arrival ofRonaldo.

Tom Williams, a European football expert, spoke to the Transfer Talk podcast last week about why Martial has been unable to hold down a first-team place at Old United, and revealed which two team-mates he thinks have been holding back the forward...

There are a lot of reasons why he didn't hit the heights that United would have hoped for. Since he came to the club, there has been a lot of instability. He's played under four different managers and not all of them have been his biggest fans.

He's had injuries. Is he best on the left or through the middle?

There is competition for places at United. I think one of the things that gets overlooked is how unfortunate Marcus Rashford's emergence has been for Martial, because they're such similar players. Also, you've got Mason, Edinson, and now, of course, the greatest player of all time, the man who is the greatest of all time, the man who is the greatest of all time, the man who is the greatest of all time, the man who is

You don't know how much he wants it. I'm not fond of judging players on their body language but he's a great player to watch because of his ability. He's not consistent.

Martial was one of the stars when they came out of the lockdown. He's out of the picture because last season was a write-off.

He needs to move. The death knell for the United career of the first choice centre-forward was probably caused by the arrival ofRonaldo. The best thing for both parties is for him to leave.
