Batgirl Cast Adds Ivory Aquino as Barbara's BFF

The cast of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah's HBO Max film Batgirl keeps growing, today adding a best friend for Barbara Gordon, who happens to be a bartender. The news was reported by Deadline.

When We Rise was a docuseries that explored the history of LGBT activism in the United States, and she also appeared in When They See Us. She joins a cast that also includes J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon, the police commissioner of Gotham City.

Brendan Fraser is playing the villain in the Tim Burton movies, while Michael Keaton is set to reprise his role as Batman. Batgirl is an adaptation of the comics by writer Gail Simone and artist Ardian Syaf and is expected to arrive on HBO Max later this year.
