Fox News' Peter Doocy jokes about Biden calling him a 'stupid son of a bitch', says he may have no choice but to embrace the label

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy laughed off reports that President Joe Biden called him a "stupid son of a bitch" on a hot mic, adding that he may have no choice but to embrace the label now.

In a clip from a press event on January 24, Biden appeared to insult the president after he asked if he thought inflation was a political liability. On "The Five," hosts Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, and Jesse Watters talked to him about the incident.

Biden replied that it was a great asset. There is more inflation. What a stupid son of a bitch.

The president said he was not going to take questions about anything other than Russia. I shouted out something that wasn't on my two pages of questions about crime. Is inflation a political liability? And the mid-terms? The hosts of "The Five" were told by Doocy.

"Then he said that!" Someone came up to me in the briefing room and asked if I had heard what the president had said. I asked, "No, what?" They said he called you stupid. I asked if he said S.O.B., and the person said no. It was added by Doocy.
Watters said that he thought the president's right that Doocy was a stupid S.O.B.

"No, nobody has fact-checked him yet and said it's not true," he said.
"So you're now, I guess, everyone's talking about you." You will be known as the stupid S.O.B. guy. You used to be like the hair guy with the blonde hair. You're a stupid S.O.B.! Peter, is this something you're embracing?
Do I have a choice? "Doocy said that."
I don't think so. Watters said that he thinks you have to walk around for the rest of your career as a stupid S.O.B.
According to CNN's chief White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins, Biden apologized for the remark on Monday night. The White House transcript of the session now includes the hot mic moment.
In an appearance on "Hannity" that same night, Doocy told Sean Hannity that he and the president had "cleared the air" over a phone call.
"After years of clips of the president and I kind of mixing it up on the campaign trail, and during the transition, and here at White House, within about an hour of that exchange, he called my cell phone," he said.

He said it was nothing personal. We were talking about moving forward.
