It's not the only person who wants Rodgers to be the Green Bay Packers quarterback next season. The coach said it's unanimous among the organization's decision-makers.

It was not clear if he was speaking on behalf of the team president or if he was only speaking for himself after the 13-10 loss to the 49ers.

"We're all on the same page when we talk to Gutey and Russ and Mark," LaFleur said. There is no debate.

A large part of LaFleur's news conference was about the plan for fixing the special teams and bringing back Davante Adams. Although he wouldn't reveal any details from the meeting, LaFleur said he wouldn't rush Rodgers into a decision.

LaFleur wants to be respectful of his process. We would love for him to be a Packer when he decides to retire, whatever he needs to do to make the best decision for himself.

What if Rodgers doesn't want to play for the Packers again, doesn't want to retire and wants to play for another team?

"I haven't been involved in any of those discussions, nor have I allowed my mind to get to that point," LaFleur said. "I want to do everything I can to get him back here and make sure he's comfortable with the direction of our football team, and confident that we can continue to have success here, and try to find a way to get us over that hump."

A return to the Packers would require a contract restructuring or extension for Rodgers. It might be difficult to retain key players, including Adams, who is set to be a free agent, given that they are $44.8 million over their projected cap.

Rodgers said Saturday that he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild at this stage of his career.

There is no plan for a rebuild. "You get this close, obviously win a lot of football games, and we know in order for there not to be that, he's gotta be a part of this thing." I don't think anyone intended that.

The Packers might not be able to use the franchise tag on Adams because of their salary-cap situation.

"We're hopeful that we can come to an agreement with another guy that we've already met with," said LaFleur, who noted he's already met with the star wideout. I told him that he has earned the respect of his teammates, his coaches, and I think everybody in this organization.

LaFleur said there are no long-term concerns about the left tackle's knee. After missing more than a year with a torn knee, Bakhtiari returned to play 27 snaps in the regular-season finale, which was seen as a warm up for the playoffs.

In the loss to the 49ers, Bakhtiari did not play.

"The opinions we've gotten from our doctors and other doctors is that everything looks good," LaFleur said. I don't think anyone knows until we get there. People respond to injuries a little differently. It has taken longer in his case.

LaFleur said Monday that he has not made any changes to his coaching staff.

The Packers were the first team in 33 years to have both a punt and field goal blocked in the same playoff game. The sign that LaFleur might not think the problem was coaching and scheme issues was that he mentioned the need to use more veteran players on special teams.

"We have not gotten involved with any part of that process, with any of our coaches, just trying to, we've got to look at everything, man," LaFleur said. If we feel like we can improve in certain areas, then we'll make tough decisions. We're not even close to getting into that at this point.

When players held exit interviews on Monday, Rodgers did not speak to reporters. He is expected to make at least one more appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday.
