Microsoft finally updates the original Surface Duo to Android 11

Microsoft is bringing the original Surface Duo up to date. The company has finally released its long-promised (and late) upgrade for the dual-screen smartphone. The main draw is the newer operating system, but you will also find a host of Surface Duo-specific improvements.

You can now use an on-screen controller to play Game Pass cloud titles. There is an enhanced dual-screen interface for viewing and editing photos on OneDrive. If you prefer handwritten memos, you can click the top button on the Slim Pen 2 to open OneNote.

If you've been living with Android 10 for more than a year, the upgrade will be good for you. We will understand if it still hurts. Even if the gap has narrowed, you're still behind even if other phones have the same OS. It's understandable that updates for such a unique phone would take longer, but that won't be much solace if you were hoping to keep up with the times.
