This was one of the best divisional round playoff weekends in a long time. Both games were decided in overtime on Sunday, making it the best game of the day.
One of the most absurd run-ins of the weekend happened during the Rams victory over the Buccaneers. After Matthew Stafford was sacked in the first quarter, Ndamukong Suh was flagged for taunting. The crazy part of this is that Suh pointed at Stafford after the play and complained that he was kicked.
Is it a pot or kettle?
It looked like his foot barely touched him as Stafford was on his back. Looking closer at the play, it seems Stafford's left leg was extended into Suh after the tackle, but it paled in comparison to what we've seen from him in the past. He got a taste of his own medicine, and now he is mad because he has gone out of his way to stomp players. At that point, it was a small amount.
A guy with a reputation for not playing nice with others now wants another player to be flagged for doing something he considers dirty. I have an issue with Suh getting so angry over the incident that he hasn't done anything worse than other guys. There was a game against Green Bay in which he stomped an offensive lineman and was disqualified. He stepped on the ankle of Rodgers as he fell to the ground. Most people don't feel bad about that one, but it still has no place in an already violent game. He kicked Washington running back Alfred Morris in the helmet.
Time after time, Suh has been caught putting his feet on another player, and the first time it happens to him, he throws a fit. The referee shook his head and threw the flag on Suh for taunting. It is like, dude, really? Are you complaining about this? The ref was right to throw the flag.
Your past affects how you are viewed in the future. It was fair in this case. You have to play ball and move on to the next play. Nobody in the NFL will have sympathy for a dirty player. We all get what we sow. The time came Sunday for Suh.
