Apple is planning for a busy fall.
Mark Gurman lists all the gadgets he thinks Apple will launch this fall in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter.
He wrote that he was told that Apple was readying the widest array of new hardware products in its history. My back-of-the-envelope list includes four new phones, a low-end MacBook Pro, an updated iMac, the new Mac Pro, a refreshed MacBook Air, and three Apple Watches.
The fall is when some of these devices are usually launched. If Gurman is correct, the number of new Apple gadgets we'll see this fall makes my wallet shudder.
There is nothing left to be launched in the rest of the year. A new iPad Air is likely to be launched at an Apple event in March or April, according to Gurman. According to Gurman, the iPhone SE will have a similar design as last year's model, but with a faster processor and 5G support. Gurman says that the iPad Air will probably have the same chip as the iPhone 13.
Gurman thinks the iPad Pro is more likely to arrive in the fall than in the spring, as nine new iPads recently surfaced in regulatory filings in Russia. The Mac mini and iMac could get an update in the spring with Apple's new M1 Pro chip.
