Most of the home favorites took care of business during the Super Wild Card Weekend, but there were four games that left fans at the edge of their seats.
The road dogs won three out of four games, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to an overtime victory against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Josh Allen did everything he could to match the high-powered offense of the Chiefs, but Buffalo didn't have an answer for Patrick Mahomes in the biggest moments.
From the upset to the overtime thriller, let's break it down.
Gabriel Davis is a Bills wide receiver.
If a team scores a touchdown on the first drive in overtime, the game is over. Gabriel Davis put himself on the casual fan's radar after a career game, and Buffalo's defense deserves a lot of blame for the loss.
Davis became the first player in the history of the playoffs to score four touchdown in a single game.
Davis averaged 16.4 yards per catch in his first two seasons after being a fourth-round pick. He had 85 receiving yards in one outing. He feasted on the defense on Sunday.
The wide receiver had seven receiving yards on three catches and a two-point conversion. Davis had a couple of wow fourth-quarter moments that spectators will remember, and Josh Allen trusted him in clutch moments.
With less than two minutes left in the game, Davis ran a crisp route and left Mike Hughes on the ground, which opened a big window for Allen on a go-ahead touchdown pass. The Bills nearly won after Davis scored his fourth touchdown with 13 seconds left in the game.
Allen threw all of his touchdown passes to Davis, who is going to hold the record for most scores in a playoff game for a long time.
Patrick Mahomes is the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes left the stadium as the last quarterback standing with a hot hand.
With 13 seconds left in the game, Mahomes moved the ball 44 yards on two completions to wideout Tyreek Hill and tight endTravis Kelce. The football magician had one more act after the 49-yard field goal by Harrison Butker.
On the first drive of overtime, Mahomes found Kelce in the right corner of the end zone. The signal-caller threw for 378 passing yards, three touchdown and rushed for 69 yards and a score.
Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes will have more battles to watch, but the former came out on top on Sunday, leading the Chiefs to a fourth consecutive home game in the playoffs.
Remember when the league was questioned if it had figured out the man after he had some passes bounce off the receiver for picks? He destroyed the Bills defense, which allowed the lowest points and yards in the regular season.
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
There were two different Rams teams on Sunday.
Los Angeles looked very good on both sides of the ball in the first half, until running back Cam Akers fumbled at the 1-yard line. The Rams were up 27-3 midway through the third quarter, but then they started to play sloppy football.
After the Rams' last touchdown drive, they fumbled three times and missed a field goal, which allowed the Buccaneers to tie the game with 42 seconds left in regulation.
Matthew Stafford showed why the Rams traded for him. After taking a sack, he threw for 64 yards on the next two plays, putting his team in a position to kick the game-winning field goal.
Los Angeles almost went down the same path as the Atlanta Falcons did in the playoffs, nearly losing a huge lead to Tom Brady. The Rams avoided disaster and will host the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs.
The Rams have had Dr. Hyde and Dr. Jekyll games throughout the course of the campaign, in which they look like two different teams within the same game, rising to incredible peaks with a high-powered offense and sinking to even lower points because of turnovers.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and Rams head coach Sean McVay.
The 49ers have won the last six meetings between these teams.
Kyle and Sean became head coaches in the same year. Over the past five seasons, the 49ers have gone 7-3 against the Rams, with the latter holding a commanding lead in head-to-head battles.
The Rams have home-field advantage, but the 49ers should be confident because of their recent victories over the Rams.
Both teams have played well defensively in the first two rounds of the playoffs, so keep an eye on injuries at the left tackle spot.
X-rays on Trent Williams' ankle came back negative, but he moved around on crutches. The Rams played without Andrew Whitworth, who was hurt in the game.
The 49ers and Rams could play a close game with the 49ers making a critical stop in the final drive.
