They are breaking the rules. They are going after people in a way that is reminiscent of the British monarchy using closed-door systems that we banned because we had seen it. We were aware of what it was like. They are trampling on people's civil liberties.
Dozens of people close to former President Donald Trump have been subpoenaed by the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot. Last week, the committee asked for her cooperation.
Gingrich claimed that the committee is "literally just running over the law" and that Garland is "misusing the FBI."
Gingrich predicted that the Republicans would have a majority in the House and Senate on January 4 next year.
January 23, 2022.
Garland said that the Justice Department remained committed to holding all January 6th perpetrators accountable under law.
More than 700 people have been charged with crimes related to the Capitol insurrection, and 175 have pleaded guilty.
