According to multiple sources, the UFC will have a title fight on May 7.
Both Prochazka and Teixeira have committed to the opponent. The 205-pound title fight will take place on a pay-per-view event. The venue for the event has not been announced.
At UFC 267 in October, he submitted Jan Blachowicz to win the UFC title at age 42. After coming up short in his first title bid, the victory came more than seven years later.
He has won six in a row, including finishes of Blachowicz, Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith.
Since signing with the UFC in 2020, Prochazka has been a dark horse in the 205-pound division. He's only fought twice inside the UFC, but he's been very impressive in his finishes.
Prochazka has recorded 10 knockout finishes.
