The NBA should consider further discipline for Milwaukee guard Grayson Allen, who was ejected in the third quarter for a foul on the Bulls' Alex Caruso.
Allen hooked Caruso's right arm and sent him to the floor on his right wrist after he went up for a layup on a fast break in the third quarter. After the game, Caruso said his wrist was a little banged up, but the X-rays came back negative.
After Friday's game, Caruso said that he was grabbed out of the air. It's kind of crazy. I don't know what you can do about it. I'm happy that I didn't have any serious injuries.
He said his wrist was bothering him in the second half. He scored 3 points in the second half, but said he didn't think the injury would linger long-term.
Allen didn't come to check on him after the play.
Normally mild-mannered and rarely singles out players, Donovan was upset by the foul. After Friday's game, Allen's actions were called dangerous and he had played college basketball at Duke.
"For Alex to be in the air and for Allen to take him down like that, he could've ended his career," he said. He has a history of this. That was really dangerous to me. I hope the league takes a hard look at that because it could have been really serious.
This was the first time Allen has been called for a foul this season and the second time in his career, although he was ejected from a Summer League game in 2019.
"I don't think he's a dirty player," Khris said. He's been 888-609- 888-609- 888-609- 888-609- Competing. Defending. Never crossed the line. We're all disappointed that he was ejected for that foul.
The referees assessed a Flagrant 2, but Budenholzer did not argue with them.
Budenholzer thinks it's a close call. I'm not going to disagree. It's on the border and they went that way. I hope that Caruso is healthy and well come out of it. It was unfortunate that we had to finish without him. It's a difficult call, but they went that way.
Allen has never been ejected from an NBA game.
"I know this is a physical game and there's plays at the basket and there's a lot of contact, but there's a right way to go up and have physical contact when you do that," he said. Not that way in my opinion.
