Big Mechs, Small Mechs, and Mechanized Moons Are the Toys of the Week

The latest and greatest in merchandise from across the internet can be found in io9's regular round up. The perfect Death Star shot might be harder than hitting an exhaust port with an X-Wing, as well as Aliens getting an unconventional model kit, this week. Check it out!

Good Smile Company Aliens Moderoid Power Loader with Ellen Ripley.

During the finale of Aliens, the question as to why giant, overly complicated Mech suits are a better alternative to simple forklifts for moving cargo on a spaceship was succinctly answered. A 10-inch replica of a Power Loader is going to look a lot cooler than a miniature forklift, as Good Smile Company proves with this new 12th-scale model. The $83 collectible is a model kit you will need to build yourself, but it is well articulated with working pistons, flexible wiring and hoses, and even comes with a matching scale Ellen Ripley figure.

The Mercedes-Benz 300SL is a playmobil.

It is unlikely that avid toy car collectors would think that one day they would be able to buy Playmobil sets instead of Hot Wheels die-casts, but the other maker of claw-handed figures has been delivering some incredibly detailed replicas from the motorsports world that adult collectors. Playmobil started out with a collection of BMWs and Porches, but eventually grew into a collection of pop culture vehicle sets, including the Ghostbusters and the Back to the Future DeLorean. Since these are plastic toys, you can expect the Benz to be under $50.

Master Gundam, and Sazabi are from the Gundam Universe.

New mecha suits from the movie Char's Counterattack and the Mobile Fighter G Gundam have been added to the latest wave of 6 scaled action figures. In Wing comes the suit, the Shenlong, which includes his beam glaive, as well as a fully articulated extendable right arm, which can be stored on the suit's back when not in use. The Sazabi, the famous final mobile suit piloted by Char Aznable, includes a rifle as well as accessories, but the Master Gundam does not include accessories outside of a swappable "Darkness Finger".

The set of three figures will be released in Japan in May.

The game is about Death Star.

If you think Ben Kenobi had a hard time locating the tractor beam controls on the original Death Star, it's a walk in the park compared to getting this tiny ball-bearing through the maze. The challenge is slightly less difficult because you only have to navigate through half of the Death Star. No matter what the voice is telling you, you want to keep your targeting computer on.
