Carnival plans to use the Verifly app across its fleet once it tests the service. The photo is from the Carnival Cruise Line.

Carnival Cruise Line will pilot a new technology program to make sure guests are following health protocols while on its newest ship, the Mardi Gras.
Verifly is an app that works as a health passport. Passengers can use the app to get proof of their vaccinations and Covid test results before they board.
American Airlines, Hyatt, British Airways and the Malta Tourism Authority use Verifly.
Carnival expects to expand use of the app across its fleet once it tests the service on the new ship.

The cruise line is planning to expand in-terminal testing of guests with a focus on three- and four-day cruises. Passengers would have to pre-register for the test, but Carnival warns that capacity would be limited.
Carnival currently requires almost all passengers to bevaccinated, but there are exceptions for children or adults who can provide a doctor's confirmation that they can't get the vaccine for medical reasons. Passengers are required to wear masks on the ship.
Carnival has returned 19 of its 22 U.S.-based ships to operation since the pause in cruising in 2020, including Carnival Sunshine, which resumed a year-round schedule sailing from Charleston, S.C.
