The tenure of Don "Wink" Martindale with the Baltimore Ravens has come to an end.
The two sides have agreed to move forward in separate directions after a series of conversations since the end of the season, according to Harbaugh.

Martindale joined the Ravens staff in 2012 and spent six seasons as the team's linebackers coach.
After Dean Pees announced his retirement from the Ravens, Martindale was promoted to defensive coordinator.
The Baltimore defense ranked in the top 10 in each of the first three seasons it was coached by Martindale. The squad fell to 28th due to injuries.
The Ravens had only 15 defensive players available for the game against Cincinnati. They allowed 525 passing yards to Joe Burrow in a 41-21 loss.

Martindale was considered to be one of the best defensive play-callers in the NFL. Los Angeles Clippers head coach Brandon Staley was ranked second by Eric Eager of Pro Football Focus.
The Ravens defeated the 49ers in the Super Bowl.
In 2004, Martindale joined the Oakland Raiders as an assistant coach. After five seasons in Oakland, he joined the Denver Broncos' staff.

He was an assistant coach for 12 seasons at the collegiate level.
