There is a lot to like about the Capital One Venture X rewards credit card. The Capital One premium credit card has a huge welcome bonus of 100,000 Venture miles and a $200 vacation rental credit, which I consider to be the best credit card bonus out there.
The card has perks like a $300 annual travel credit, 10,000 anniversary bonus miles, Priority Pass membership, access to Capital One Lounges, and more. I was approved for this card immediately after applying.
The most impressive aspect of this card is how lucrative it is for authorized users. I have never seen a premium credit card that has such valuable and useful perks for authorized users.

It is easy to add Capital One Venture X authorized users to your card. Adding authorized users is the first option. At the end of the application, you will be asked if you want to add more cardmembers.
You can add authorized users after you open your account if you need more time to think about who you want to add. Click on the "I Want To..." button at the top of the page to log into your account.
Under the "Control Your Card" section, there is a window that will show you the option to add an account user.
You can choose the access level for the user.
If you designate someone as an Account Manager, they will receive their own online log-in and can help you manage the account.
If you designate someone as an authorized user, they won't get an online log-in, but they will get their own card.
You will be responsible for all the charges of your authorized users regardless of which option you choose.
If you want to add a type of authorized user, you have to give them basic details, including their first and last name, phone number, and social security number. If you only add someone as an authorized user, then adding a social security number is optional.
Adding authorized users is a couple of things to note.
If an authorized user wants to join the Capital One Venture X as a primary cardmember in the future, they would be eligible for the welcome bonus.
If authorized users are concerned about their Chase 5/24 status, they should know that receiving a card as an authorized user could count as a further credit card toward their limit.
Does it make sense to add Capital One Venture X authorized users?
Adding authorized users to Capital One Venture X makes sense because they will get airport lounge access and more.
Everyone will be happy to be given unlimited airport lounge access. The perk is even better for those based at DFW, IAD, and DEN, all of which should have Capital One Lounges by some point in the future.
Capital One allows you to add authorized users to the card at no cost. To compare this to other premium cards that offer Priority Pass memberships to authorized users.
To be able to get those perks for authorized users without paying extra is very rare.
Lounge access is a gift for friends and family.
You might not want to add Capital One Venture X authorized users.
Adding authorized users to the Capital One Venture X will cost nothing. I want to give an example of why that might not be the best option for those of us who love maximizing value.
Ford applied for his own card instead of adding him as an authorized user on my card. Why? Venture X is better than breakeven for the primary cardmember. The Venture X has an annual fee of $395 but the card offers more.
Capital One Travel gives a $300 annual travel credit.
I value Capital One miles at 1.7 cents each, so to me that is worth $170.
The card gets me roughly $470 worth of value every year with a $395 annual fee. I think having people get their own card instead of being added as an authorized user is worth it for those who value things the way I do.
This is a product where you can gift lounge access to a bunch of family members and friends if you pick up your own card as a primary cardmember, and I think it makes sense for a couple to each pick up their own card as a primary cardmember. That is the approach I have taken.
