January 6 riot probe invites Ivanka Trump to talk about her father’s actions that day

The daughter of US President Donald Trump is going to introduce her father at a rally in Washington, Michigan.

The House select committee invited the daughter of former President Donald Trump to provide information and participate in a voluntary interview.

The chairman of the committee said in a letter that the daughter of the president was a senior White House advisor when the riot occurred.

The committee wants to ask her about the events of January 6, 2021, when hundreds of his supporters invaded the Capitol and temporarily stopped Congress from voting on Joe Biden.

Donald Trump did not respond to CNBC's request for comment on the letter.
