A film studio may be launching in space in 2024

Space may soon be home to a TV and film studio.

Tom Cruise's upcoming space movie is being co-produced by a company that is planning to launch a studio, a streaming studio and a sports arena by the year 2024, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The International Space station will be attached to the Axiom Station, a commercial space station, prior to it's scheduled departure.

"Creating a next generation entertainment venue in space opens countless doors to create incredible new content and make these dreams a reality," said Richard Johnston, COO of S.E.E.

The module is intended to host film, music, television and sports events, as well as artists and creatives who want to create content in the environment.

S.E.E. partners, consultants and advisors are made up of former executives from Endemol, as well as an investment bank.

Elena and Dmitry Lesnevsky said thatSEE-1 is an opportunity for humanity to move into a different realm and start an exciting new chapter in space.

It will provide a unique, accessible home for boundless entertainment possibilities in a venue packed with innovative infrastructure which will unleash a new world of creativity. This cutting-edge, revolutionary facility will be the first of its kind in the world and will allow the expansion of the two trillion-dollar global entertainment industry into low-Earth orbit.

The new trend is to shoot movies in space. Tom Cruise was initially going to be the first to do it, but a Russian film crew beat him to it in October.

It seems like it will take a lot of time, money, and commitment to make a film studio happen. We've been enjoying space movies that haven't been filmed in space for a long time. They've done well.
