Blinken Seeks United Front In Europe After Biden Warns Of Imminent Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

The Secretary of State held crisis talks with European allies in Berlin in a last-ditch attempt to prevent a Russian invasion of Ukraine, a day after President Joe Biden warned that such a move by Moscow was imminent.

The U.S. attempted to present a unified western front to deter Russian military action after meeting with senior officials from Germany, Britain and France.

The new German Chancellor is scheduled to meet with Blinken later on Thursday.

A visit to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv on Wednesday was part of a larger tour which included a visit to the Russian President.

In the last leg of his tour, Blinken will meet Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Biden said on Wednesday that he believes an attack on Ukraine is likely and that Putin will move in.

Russia has 100,000 troops along its border with Ukraine, which could be doubled in a short period of time, according to Tony Blinken.
