Bennett is ready to lead the way for the national champion.

The Georgia quarterback who helped lead his team to a victory over Alabama in the College Football National Playoff Championship Game announced Wednesday that he will be returning to the program for one more year.

Bennett isn't considered a top draft prospect, despite the fact that he could go out on top and try his hand at the NFL after winning a championship.

The B/R NFL Scouting Department did not have him among its top 150 players overall or top seven quarterbacks. The top three quarterbacks on the list were Cincinnati's Ridder, Pittsburgh's Pickett and Ole Miss' Corral.

Bennett will have the chance to prove himself at the collegiate level in the year of Georgia's title defense.

He will be a legend regardless of whether he makes the NFL or not.

He went from being a walk-on quarterback to making key throws on the sport's biggest stage against Alabama. He threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter as Georgia completed a comeback against Alabama.

Bennett's return is more important because Pete Thamel reported thatJT Daniels is in the transfer portal. If Bennett left, quarterback depth would have been a concern.

He will be back to defend his crown as the Bulldogs prepare to face a challenging schedule that includes games with Oregon and Florida.
