CHEYENNE, Wyo. The widow and two sisters of a U.S. Marine killed in Afghanistan are suing Alec Baldwin, accusing the actor of exposing them to a flood of social media hatred.

According to the lawsuit, Roice McCollum was never arrested or charged with a crime after being interviewed by the FBI.

Baldwin is currently in the middle of an investigation into the death of a cinematographer and the wounding of a director after a prop gun went off on a movie set.

Baldwin sent a $5,000 check to the widow of a marine who was killed in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan.

The lawsuit says the actor messaged Roice after she posted a photo of the Trump rally, asking if she was the same woman. According to the suit, the woman told Baldwin that testing is legal.

According to the suit, Baldwin replied that her activities resulted in the destruction of government property, the death of a law enforcement officer, and an assault on the certification of the presidential election, and that he'd reposted the photo to his millions of followers.

According to the lawsuit, Baldwin wrote good luck.

Baldwin ignored Roice's denial of rioting and the assertion that she was cleared by the FBI for participating in any of the conduct Baldwin chose to attribute to her.

Email and phone messages were not immediately returned by Baldwin representatives. FBI officials in Denver didn't return email messages asking if the lawsuit's assertions about Roice McCollum are true. There were no criminal charges against her in federal court records.

After Baldwin shared the photo of the protest on social media, Roice McCollum got hundreds of hate messages, including one that told her to get raped and die.

In a post under his account, Baldwin called that message "abhorrent" and told Roice McCollum there were "hateful things posted toward you that are wrong."

Baldwin didn't do anything to remedy the situation according to the lawsuit. By sharing the photo, he caused death threats against Roice and other family members, as well as messages of hate against other family members.

The lawsuit claims invasion of privacy, defamation, negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress and seeks $25 million in damages.

Jiennah gave birth to a daughter in September. Around $1 million has been raised for the widow and child.

Baldwin gave up his cellphone to authorities investigating a fatal shooting on a film set in New Mexico. Halyna Hutchins was killed and the director was wounded when Baldwin discharged a live round during a rehearsal.
