It has been 15 years since Daniel Craig was announced as the new James Bond. Craig's approach to the world's most famous super spy remained the same despite much has changed. Craig's Bond has always been more realistic. The Bonds of the past were more similar to this. A documentary is available to commemorate his last film, No Time to Die out in the world.
Being James Bond is a documentary that was previously available to Apple TV+ subscribers, but now it is also available on YouTube. The official website says that in it, "Daniel Craig candidly reflects on his 15-year tenure as James Bond." In the lead up to his final performance as the legendary secret agent, Craig talks to the producers about his personal memories from Casino Royale to No Time To Die, including never-before-seen archival footage. Check it out.
Because this was released before No Time to Die, Craig doesn't talk about its surprising ending, but he does get very contemplative. A lot of people here have worked on pictures with Craig. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to work with you guys in this movie, because I have gotten up every morning and I have had the chance to work with you.
Since a new Bond has yet to be cast and Craig is still fresh in our minds, it is difficult to rank him alongside the Bonds of the past. Does he beat the legend of Sean Connery? Probably not. Is the popularity of his run more influential than that of Brosnan? Probably. A new Bond will allow us to think about his legacy.
Let us know what you think of the documentary and where you think Craig ranks among the Bonds.
