Crystal Cruises suspended operations for its ocean and expedition ships through the end of May.

The parent company of the company said that it would be out of cash by the end of the month.
Crystal said suspending operations would give its management team an opportunity to evaluate the current state of business and examine various options moving forward.

Crystal Cruises president Jack Anderson said that the decision was difficult but wise given the current business environment and recent developments with their parent company.

Crystal has been synonymous with luxury cruising for more than 30 years, and we look forward to welcoming back our valued guests when we resume operations. We would like to thank our guests and travel advisors for their support during these challenging times.
Crystal's three ships are currently sailing. There are three ocean ships sailing in the Caribbean and one in the Antarctica. The symphony's current cruise ends in Miami on January 22.

Crystal will give a full refund of the cruise fare paid, which will be processed automatically to the original form of payment, if passengers and their travel advisors are notified by Crystal.

The full value of the cruise would be returned to the Crystal Society account if the cruise was paid via a future cruise credit.
