Henry took another step toward being activated before the team's playoff game.

Some of the defensive players hit Henry as he went through drills with the running backs during the padded practice. If Henry played in a game, he would be asked to do a number of things.

Henry said he felt great. I wanted to get some pads on. Haven't been on in a while, but got some contact going.

Henry fractured his foot in the team's 34-31 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8 and was placed on injured reserve.

Henry responded well to the contact in practice. The team wants to see him participate in the rest of the practices this week before they make a decision on his return.

They are expected to make a decision on Friday.

He has not had contact in a while. We will have a week of work to make a decision.

Henry smiled and said, "We'll see how this week goes."

Henry has a steel plate in his right foot, which is the same as the one in his left foot. He had to get back onto the field and get used to playing football again.

Todd Downing said that things have been progressing encouragingly and that if he's given the green light that Henry will be playing, they'll monitor how he progresses during the game. If Henry is active, the flow of the game could dictate how much he plays.

Henry was placed on injured reserve on Jan 5. The 21-day window for Henry to be added to the active roster was opened by the designation.

Henry is sixth in the league in rushing yards despite missing eight games. He was the NFL's leading rusher when he got injured.
