Peng Shuai: Osaka, Barty & Azarenka call for information on Chinese player at Australian Open

Naomi Osaka and Ashleigh Barty are talking about a woman at the Australian Open.

The women's tennis stars want more information about the Chinese player.

Since November, when she posted allegations of sexual assault against a former senior politician, there has been concern over her safety. She denied making the claim.

Victoria says there has been little development in the case.

"Hopefully we will get to hear from her personally at some point," said the Belarusian.

Speaking after winning her second-round match at the Australian Open, the woman who is on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Player Council said players are making all efforts to make sure she is safe.

I think that's the main goal right now. I am proud that we are supporting our players, as an association, women's association.

I think that kind of should not be said.

One of China's biggest sporting stars, Peng, sparked global concern after posting allegations of sexual assault against a former Vice-Premier on the Chinese social media site Weibo.

The 36-year-old has not been seen in public since December 19th.

"It's really unfortunate," said Azarenka.

We hope for the best. We will see what happens.

It's a little frightening.

Four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka has called for more information about her location.

Osaka said she would want people to care for her if she were in her position.

It's one of those things. It's a little bit scary because I imagine myself in her shoes. You want people to ask the questions and you want to lend your voice.

The suspension of all tournaments in China was announced in December by the governing body of the WTA, which was putting pressure on China over safety concerns.

Ashleigh Barty said that the tennis community has come together.

We're all looking out for her. We hope she's doing well.

We hope she's doing well. Hopefully it's not too long until we see her again.
