Australia offers financial incentives to thousands of international visa holders

If international students can travel to Australia within the coming weeks, Australia will waive visa application fees for them.

Australia's working holiday and work and holiday visa schemes are open to applicants from many countries, including the US, UK, Canada, South Korea, Japan, and many European nations.

The holder of the visas can take up temporary jobs in Australia to fund their trip. The visas are valid for one year, but there is an option to extend them for two or three years.

Backpackers can return to Australia.

Australia wants visa holders to start their trip as early as possible.

The visa schemes were put on hold when the borders were sealed due to the Pandemic. The program was reopened earlier this month because of the labor shortages, and the government is now making it easier for people to visit by offering financial incentives.

The prime minister said that people don't have to pay visa application fees if they arrive in the country within 12 weeks. When they arrive in the country, they will be able to apply for a full refund.

If they show up within the next 12 weeks, they will get their visa application fee reimbursed by the Department of Home Affairs. Morrison said anyone who applies for one and turns up within the next 12 weeks will have their visa application fee rebated.

If students arrive within the next eight weeks, they will be given a A$ 630 refund by the government, which will coincide with the start of the new school year for universities. There are no details on how applicants can apply for the refunds.

There are 23,500 backpackers who have visas to come to Australia right now, according to Morrison.

My message to them is to come on down. You have a visa because you want to come to Australia.

Move all the way around the country and join our workforce and help us in our agricultural sector, as well as many of the other parts of the economy that rely on that labour.

Morrison said the program is to target backpackers and students to get them out of the country.

Australia is only open to certain visa holders, including working holidaymakers, skilled migrants, international students, and family visa holders. It is also open to tourists from New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea. The rest of the world is still banned, but it is likely that border restrictions will be loosened in the coming months.

Some states are open to fully vaccination arrivals who test negative for COVID-19, but others have additional restrictions in place.
