'The Hills' Reboot Canceled After 2 Seasons on MTV

The cast of 'The Hills' are getting the ax because of the new beginnings. It has been learned.

The cast of "The Hills: New Beginnings" got the bad news last week that the show won't be coming back for a third season, and multiple sources connected to the MTV show tell us that's true.

One source close to the show tells us that the producers recently explored the idea of bringing younger cast members into the fold, but several of the original stars were not on board.

Some of the OGs had major issues with the show, and felt like it was forced with fake storylines and confessionals, according to our sources. Some of the OGs refused to play along, which ultimately led to the cancellation.

It was.

We're told that many of them said the new show didn't have the same feel as the first one, and that it created an issue between some stars and the network.

Another source blames the cancelation on the difficulties in booking filming locations for a big ensemble cast. Producers feel like they squeezed as much juice from the lemon as possible, given the dynamics.

"The Hills: New Beginnings" was a new show in 2019.

The biggest star was always missing. Lauren Conrad was too busy with her other business ventures to join the reboot.

The OG show aired from 2006 to 2010 and producers were proud of what they were able to do in the middle of the worldwide Pandemic.

A source tells the website. 'New Beginnings' won't be returning, but 'The Hills' will be reinvented to maximize audiences' love for it, and will live on with new versions to come.
