Jamaica has qualified for the bobsled event for the first time in 24 years.

Jamaica got the final spot in the 28-sled field based on international results.

Jamaica has qualified for three bobsled events for the first time. The country will be competing in two-man bobsled and women's monobob.

Alexander will be Jamaica's first ever competitor in Alpine skiing.

The first Winter Olympics for Jamaica took place in 1988 in Canada.

Cool Runnings was inspired by the exploits of the Caribbean nation's bobsled team in the two-man and four-man bobsled events.

Since then, Jamaica has appeared in every Winter Olympics. Bobsled teams competed in a number of years. The last time the four-man team competed was at the 1998 Olympics.

Errol Kerr was the first Jamaican to compete in the Winter Olympics outside of bobsledding when he finished ninth in the men's ski cross.

Jamaica's two-man bobsled team made history by becoming the first women to represent Jamaica at the Winter Olympics.

Jamaica will compete in four Winter Olympics events for the first time ever, and Fenlator-Victorian will return in the women's monobob.

The Beijing Games are scheduled to begin on Feb. 4.
