How to get free at-home Covid-19 test kits mailed to your door

The new federal government website will allow you to order free Covid-19 at- home test kits and have them mailed to your door, although the site might have some bugs.

Over 500 million test kits have been made available to all Americans as part of a larger Biden administration initiative to combat surging Omicron cases.
There will be a limit of four test kits per household from the first 500 million test kits. It is not clear what the limits are for a second batches of 500 million test kits. The White House said that delivery would be between 7 and 12 days.

Users on social media are reporting a bug in which people in the same apartment building are being rejected as duplicate despite living in separate units. The launch was in a pre-production phase and the White House warned that there would be bugs in it.

First class package service will be used for all orders in the continental United States. Priority Mail will be used to send shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, and Army, Navy and diplomatic post office addresses.
Your private health insurer will cover the cost of up to eight Covid-19 tests per month. If you are part of a clinical assessment by a health-care provider, you will get eight free tests per month, plus whatever number of tests a doctor asks you to take, if you pay the test kit costs.
