It was only a month ago that Amazon announced that it was going to make an animated spinoff of The Boys called Diabolical, which was going to be an anthology of short cartoons. It is very striking that Diabolical has a release date and a first look at the series in action.
It makes sense that the look is from an episode of The Boys called "Laser Baby", since it stars the infant that shoots lasers out of its eyes in one of the most notorious scenes of the show. The style of the short is interesting.
Those are the images of the cartoons of the ‘90s, with violence, murder, and a pool of blood that is uncomfortably close to Laser Baby. If the color of the liquid was changed to black oil or blue water, the guy slipping in the puddle of blood could have been taken. It is very similar to the Tom & Jerry cartoon "Tot Watchers," in which the pair tried to keep a baby from getting killed. I don't want to look it up, but I think that Looney Tunes did one. The baby will be doing the killing.
If you don't like the look of the short, don't worry; each of the eight episodes will have their own animation style when Prime Video launches on March 4.
