Bol Bol will be out for eight to 12 weeks after having surgery on his foot, according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic.

The Detroit Pistons had an issue with Bol's physical and voided the trade for him, according to Mike Singer of the Denver Post.

The Nuggets were taken aback by the news.

Bol has only appeared in 53 games in the NBA over the course of three seasons, but he has been injury-free.

During his lone season at Oregon, the 22-year-old underwent foot surgery, limiting him to just nine career NCAA games. He fell to the 44th pick in the draft, as he averaged 21.0 points, 9.6 rebound and 2.7 blocks per game for the Ducks.

Denver referred to his absences as injury management from the prior surgery, and brought him along slowly with just seven appearances.

Bol has gotten more chances over the past two years, but still only gets 5.2 minutes per game.

The versatile 7'2" forward has excelled on the court, hitting 37.8% of his three-point shots and averaging 15.6 points and 2.0 blocks per 36 minutes. There are still few opportunities in Denver.

Bol is set to be a restricted free agent in the summer, with the latest injury creating even more uncertainty about his future.
