Astronaut Says First Gorilla Suit He Tried to Smuggle Into Space Blew Up in Fiery Explosion

There are a lot of things that have been smuggled to the International Space Station.

Mark Kelly, who was elected to the US senate in 2020, tried to send a full-body gorilla suit to his twin brother Scott, who was on board the International Space Station.

The suit exploded when a Falcon 9 rocket exploded in a fireball. The Kelly brothers were determined.

Scott told People that his brother sent him another gorilla suit the next time he was on the phone.

The astronauts are being scared.

The shenanigans culminated in a now-legendary 2016 video in which Scott Kelly can be seen emerging from a white bag and proceeding to zoom around the tight confines of the orbital outpost while wearing the suit. He chased Tim Peake around the station.

The video went crazy.

People liked it. How can you not like a space gorilla? Scott told people.

Scott admitted that Peake was in the video. Other astronauts were unaware.

Scott said he floated down to the Russian segment. They were laughing so hard that you wouldn't believe it.

Scott told the magazine that it was the end of his year in space. You need a bit of humor.

Scott Kelly has a real story behind the video of him in a gorilla suit.

A veteran NASA Astronaut has been elected to the US Senate.
