Hong Kong police arrest two Cathay Pacific attendants accused of Covid rule breach

Two former flight attendants were arrested.

The two flight attendants were arrested by Hong Kong police.

The announcement came after the airline fired two aircrew who were suspected of breaching Covid-19 protocols.

The pair were accused of conducting unnecessary activities during their home isolation period in Hong Kong after spending Christmas in the United States.

They both tested positive for the Omicron variant.

Their case will be heard in separate courts on February 9 after they were released on bail. They could face up to six months in prison and a fine of up to HK$5,000 if convicted.

The company is cooperating with the government on the probes, according to the chairman.

Despite the news, the majority of the staff at Cathay follow the rules.

Locals blame Cathay Pacific for the spread of Omicron.

The Chief Executive of Hong Kong called out the company for failing to ensure employees follow local Covid laws.
