Microsoft has 25 million subscribers to its Game Pass service. In January last year, Microsoft reported 18 million. The Xbox Game Pass all-you-can-eat catalog of games is attracting new subscribers as Microsoft looks to extend the service.

The amount of titles on the Xbox Game Pass increases as Microsoft subscriber numbers grow. The Elder Scrolls, Dishonored, and Wolfenstein are just a few of the games that were added to the Game Pass.

Microsoft announced the milestone while revealing its planned $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which will have Bobby Kotick and his 10,000 employees reporting to Phil Spencer.

Microsoft:

Microsoft will be able to offer more games to its Game Pass portfolio with plans to launch games from Activision Blizzard. Game Pass will become one of the most compelling and diverse lineups of gaming content in the industry with the acquisition of Activision. Microsoft will have 30 internal game development studios, along with additional publishing and production capabilities.

Spencer said in a post that they will offer as many games from the same publisher as they can within the PC and Xbox Game Pass. The service will have a lot of options, but there are no specifics.

Over the past year, Microsoft has added NBA 2K21, Madden NFL 21, NHL 21, and more. Outriders was added to the service on the Game Pass last year. Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite were all released on the first day of the Xbox Game Pass holiday.

Microsoft is working on extending the availability of Xbox Game Pass. The web version of Xbox Cloud gaming was made widely available to players on the internet last summer, and Microsoft started rolling out the service to the consoles in November. This will allow newer games like Microsoft Flight Simulator to be streamed and played on older consoles as the service is fully powered by Xbox Series X hardware.
