Samsung Exynos 2200 with AMD GPU, ray tracing announced

The next flagship chip from the Exynos series will be launched at the same event as the next flagship smartphone series, but it was not confirmed by the company. The company left us puzzled and amazed by announcing the Exynos 2200 with an online announcement a few weeks ahead of its Unpacked event. The upcoming S22 lineup is expected to be powered by the Exynos 2200.

The Exynos 2200 is built on a 4nm process and comes with an improved NPU for artificial intelligence applications. The Exynos 2200 is expected to compete with the other two chipsets for phones.

The Exynos 2200 uses a 4nm processor.

The tri-cluster design used for the Exynos 2200 is the same as the one used for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform. The Exynos 2200 has a single primary core, three secondary core, and four tertiary core.

The Exynos 2200 is also made on the 4nm EUV process. We can expect a performance that is neck-and-neck with the flagship of the company due to their congruent designs.

Ray tracing support is provided by the graphics card.

The custom Xclipse graphics card on the Exynos 2200 is made with the same technology that is used on gaming consoles such as the Xbox Series S and X, as well as the Sony PlayStation 5. The letter X is used by SAMSUNG as a metaphor to indicate the beginning of a new exciting chapter in terms of mobile gaming.

Ray tracing is used to call the sea.

One of the main benefits of this custom graphics card is that it adds support for ray tracing, which allows for a greater emphasis on rays from light sources, especially the sun, in mobile game graphics. Light sources in mobile game visuals appear more realistic and closer to what we expect to see with our own eyes, if you use ray tracing.

Ray tracing can be seen on high-end graphics cards. ray tracing is supported by the Exynos 2200, the first mobile chip that supports it.

Neural processing unit is faster.

The Exynos 2200 has an upgraded modem that supports sub 6 GHz as well as millimeter wave signals. The modem supports 3GPP's Release 16 standard for mobile broadband. The standard has support for key features. Without naming the modem, the company says it can support speeds of up to 10Gbps.

The new NPU on the Exynos 2200 is twice as fast as the one on the Exynos 2100, according to the company.

The ISP has been redesigned for faster processing.

The new image signal processor on the Exynos 2200 will not be seen on the S22, as it supports up to 200 cameras. Although the figure is the same as the last generation, the new version of the ISP has been designed to bring faster processing with support for a full 108-megapixel viewfinder that can refresh at 30 frames per second.

The internet service provider can decode 4K videos at up to 120 frames per second and 8K videos at up to 60 frames per second. It can convert 4K videos to 8K at 30 frames per second. The Exynos 2200 will be able to play 8K videos at up to 60 frames per second and 4K videos at up to 120 frames per second, while recording 8K videos at 30 frames per second and 4K videos at up to 120 frames per second.

The Exynos 2200 is available.

The leaked press images were of the S22 Plus and S22 Ultra.

Next month, the Exynos 2200 will make its debut with the S22 series. We can expect the Exynos 2200 to be used in most of the world except for the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, and South Korea, where the S22 series is likely to be powered.
