The cannabis store in Montreal was legalised.

Shoppers will need to show proof of vaccination in retail liquor and cannabis shops in Canada's Quebec province.

The new measure goes into effect on Tuesday. Health officials hope that the order will encourage more people to get vaccinations.

Quebec has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, but new cases are increasing.

Health officials warned of a huge increase in hospital admissions.

Customers will have to show proof of vaccination to enter the government-run cannabis stores, according to the Quebec Health Minister.

He said that if you don't want to get vaccinations, stay home.

There's a simple solution if unvaccinated people are unhappy about it.

In health facilities, theatres, bars and indoor sport and performance venues, proof of vaccine is required.

A curfew is in place from 10:00 to 10:00 each day.

Over 109,000 cases of Covid were recorded in the province over a seven day period.

The hospital system is currently lacking 20,000 workers, and Mr Dubé warned that the number of patients could rise from 2,000 to 3000 by mid-January.

He said that they need to adjust to the Omicron variant. "We need to adjust to the severity of the disaster."

According to the Montreal Gazette, the province has 319 hospital beds.

About half of the people currently in intensive care are unvaccinated.
