Brooklyn Nets' Kyrie Irving adamant on vaccine refusal

Irving's refusal to be vaccinations combined with New York laws has deprived the Nets of one of their star players for home games.

Despite an injury to teammate Kevin Durant, Irving will not change his mind and get a vaccine against Covid-19.

Irving can't play in Nets home games because of New York's ban on unvaccinated people in indoor venues.

The Nets' star- studded squad has been weakened by a knee injury that will sideline KD for a month or more.

I stay focused on my decision. Irving said it's not going to be swayed by one thing.

I live the majority of the time when I'm away from this.

"So when I say I'm not getting vaccinations and I'm making a choice with my life, it gets mixed into, 'well, what about the basketball?' When it's like, "We live in a real world".

I've been away enough to think about this, to process it, to be able to make a decision, to understand that people are going to agree and some people are going to disagree.

Irving can't play in the Nets' away matches against the New York Knicks or the Toronto Raptors.

He apologized for suggesting that the earth may be flat.

The Nets were intended to be a championship contender after his arrival in 2019.

The furthest they have gone in the end-of-season finale is last year's Conference semi-final loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Booker made their first post-season appearance in the NBA play-offs last year and scored the most points ever by a player.

In Monday night's game, Booker scored a season-high 48 points as the Phoenix Suns defeated the San Antonio Spurs 121-107.

The Los Angeles Lakers broke a three-game losing streak with a 101-95 victory against the Utah Jazz as King James scored 25 points.

The Atlanta Hawks, who had lost their previous five games, came back from 11 points down early in the final quarter to win the game.
