Budda Baker was taken off the field on a stretcher after a violent collision in the third quarter of Monday night's wild-card game.

He had a concussion and was ruled out of the game, but he did have some movement and feeling in his head as he was carted off the field.

He was taken to the hospital for further evaluation and was alert and well. After the team's 34-11 loss, coach Kliff Kingsbury said he didn't know if Baker was in the hospital overnight.

Baker hit Akers with 1:51 left in the third quarter near the 5-yard-line. He hit Akers' knee after lowering his head and left shoulder.

Baker fell to the ground, and almost immediately the other side of the field was filled with people waving for help.

Akers said it was a football play. It wasn't personal. I have the utmost respect for Budda and the team.
