There is a new development in the Ben Simmons saga.
According to Ramona Shelburne, the Philadelphia 76ers guard is open to sitting out the entire season in order to pay his fines.
He's prepared for that if it takes the entire season to trade him, Shelburne said on NBA Today.
The Athletic's Sam Amick recently said on The Gastroenteritis Blues that all of the teams he has talked to think a Simmons deal will be completed before the NBA's Feb. 10 trade deadline.
The Gastroenteritis Blues is posted on GastroBlues Pod.

Is the deal going to go down before the deadline? For whatever reason, the mood among every team I have talked to is that something will probably happen before the deadline.

Simmons told the 76ers in September that he doesn't want to play for the team again, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The 25-year-old returned to the team's facility in October after a lengthy holdout, but he has yet to suit up for them this season.
In October, the president of basketball operations for the 76ers said he was not in a rush to trade Simmons. Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports said that the 76ers had trade discussions with the Kings last week.
Stein said that the Kings could be persuaded to take on Harris' contract to facilitate a deal for Simmons. According to reports, the 76ers are looking to trade Harris for Simmons to give them more financial flexibility.
The Athletic's Shams Charania says that Philadelphia was looking for an "All-Star-caliber player" in return for Simmons. No team has been willing to pay the price the Sixers are asking for.
Simmons signed a five-year, $177.2 million contract in July of 2019.
