According to internal documents obtained by the Wall Street Journal, 37 employees have left the company since July of last year, as part of the company's attempt to crack down on sexual harassment. 44 people were disciplined in connection with workplace misconduct allegations, according to the WSJ.

Kotick did not want to make the situation worse by releasing this information.

More than 20 workers left the company in October, along with around 20 who the company reprimanded at the time. According to the WSJ, around 700 employee complaints were collected by the company. WSJ reports that Bobby Kotick, the CEO of the company, refused to release a report detailing the results of the investigation because it would make the company look worse.

A request for comment was not immediately responded to by the company.

The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing sued the company for promoting a culture of sexual harassment. Many employees have come forward with their own experiences with sexual harassment at the company, and they say that management was aware of and encouraged the behavior. The company reached an $18 million settlement with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in September, but has recently appealed the judge's decision that prevents it from intervening.

The company's board still expressed confidence in Kotick's leadership despite accusations of abusive behavior. Over 1,500 employees signed a petition to remove Kotick as CEO, who only said he would consider stepping down if the company's toxic work culture couldn't be fixed with speed.

The board of directors of The Verge's parent company is chaired by a person named Casey Wasserman.
